Random Ditties of Delight: Skype, Casey Anthony, Me, Combat Hospital, & Sherlock

Yes, here we are. Another random blog. My randomness is catching, though, you must admit.  Seriousness is so overrated, and I've come to discover that it is exceedingly boring. So stay put for some useless blogging if you dare!

Started the day off pretty well. Skype wasn't its usual piece of shit self, so that's promising. Maybe since Facebook is scheduled to start using it they thought they'd better step up their game. That wasn't to say my pal Wendy and I didn't experience problems at base. First, she couldn't see me, then I couldn't hear her, but at last, after three video calls, all was well in the land of Oz.  It's always fun to talk with her, and it makes me miss being back in Vermillion! Classes were always entertaining with Wendy by my side, especially in the evilness known as Literary Criticism. We somehow kept one another sane in there. Yikes. If you want to know what that class felt like, go try to read over a thousand pages of text in a language that is foreign to you, and then try to write a twenty-page plus research paper trying to utilize one of the theories contained within those pages. Yeeeeeah.  Oh, and while you're at it, you must keep at it from 7-10 every Wednesday night for half a year. HELLLLLLLLLLL!!!! As you can see, I'm still having nightmares about it. In fact, I've developed a twitch over it, hehe.

So now that Casey Anthony is going free, people around the world have seemingly decided to go crazy all at once. I mean, I know it's horrible, and I know that the woman was guilty, but does every talk show in the world have to harp on and on about it? The media makes us obsessed with these things, and then our lovely psychopaths in the world decide to become vigilantes. Urgh. I think the verdict understandably cast depression in regards to our supposed justice system, but it doesn't do any good for anybody to obsess over this little girl's death. The poor little girl is gone, as are countless other victims of the same crime. Let them rest in peace. The murderer will never find it.

So here I still sit, just floating along in life, not knowing what to do. Each day goes by and I feel older and older. Good lord. I just have no idea what to do with my life. I've thought about going back to school, but I already owe an arm, leg, kidney, and heart to Iowa Student Loans, so I don't really want to add any more. And the three things I'm interested in (EMT, Vet Tech, & Counseling) are things I'm not sure I could even thrive in. I have extreme anxiety issues, so an EMT probably wouldn't be a good idea, nor the fact that I don't like people. I'm not sure I could handle sick animals either, since I love them so much, so I definitely couldn't handle having to dissect a cat in class. And counseling...well, I have a hard time speaking to people, and I have the tendency to shoulder everyone else's problems, so trying to establish an emotional distance would be impossible for me, let alone my confidence in being able to help others. I can't even help myself for crying out loud, and I've learned that it is impossible to trust another human being. Humans just suck. They always let you down, and they always betray your trust. Eventually. They eventually turn on you and try to twist a knife in your gut where they know it will hurt the most. In the end, we are all alone.

Combat Hospital's third episode was Tuesday, and it started off quite horribly. Granted, the idea of Rebecca, AKA Whiney Magoo, shooting a round at a spider was hilarious, but then all of these random characters started appearing and Simon the Malicious got some screen time with his raisen lover. Uk. I hate that character. I swear, the only good times are when Marks shows up. The second half got better at least, and I practically cheered when he finally raised his voice to Rebecca The Insubordination Queen. Sigh. Next week's looks stupid. Simon looks in danger, though, so that's promising.  I tune in if only to hope of the possibility of Marks laying into the whiners of the world.
I can't wait until Sherlock comes back to tv. They'll be shooting episodes based off of A Scandal in Bohemia, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and The Final Problem. After last year's dramatic cliff hanger, I can hardly wait! Poor Martin is being shifted back and forth between acting in Sherlock as Watson and playing Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit. It's disgusting how Steven Moffat (no relation, unfortunately) and Peter Jackson have been squabbling over Martin like he's their slave. Yes, he's had to leave The Hobbit set to return to Sherlock to film off and on. So what? Get over it. It was in his contract. Both are extremely important to him, and Martin is a human being. Guess what? He can tell you both to SHOVE IT!

Speaking of Sherlock, I completely can sympathize with poor ole John Watson when he finds himself strapped to Moriarty's murderous bomb at the end of the last episode. I'm sure many people can. We all seem to find ourselves strapped to our own personal bombs from time to time, don't we? Feel like the clock is running out? I know I do. My clock is ticking and I'm standing still, frozen in terror...urgh. In the words of a certain psychopath, "Tick, tick, tick, that's the sound of your life running out."  Oh well. On with the randomness. Until next time!
